About Fielding Library ServicesMany things at and about Fielding Graduate University are quite different from a traditional institution of graduate education. For example, the Fielding student community consists primarily of adult learners who have chosen a self-directed, independent learning style and are geographically dispersed, as are the members of the faculty.Fielding Graduate University's Library Services are designed to fit the university's learning and operational models; for example, there is no central, traditional physical library. And since one of the basic premises of Fielding is that learning is a life-long activity and does not end when students receive their graduate degree, an important goal of Fielding Graduate University Library Services is to promote information competency by teaching learners to be(come) self-sufficient in selecting and utilizing information resources. The mission of Fielding Graduate University Library Services is to help students and faculty with finding the information needed for their academic pursuits - learning, teaching, and research - at Fielding. If you are new to Fielding, please read the document
Introduction to Fielding Library Services for new students, available in PDF format.
