Distinguishing Cognitive and Emotional Symptoms Associated with Neurological and Psychiatric Disorders
Join Dr. Arnold Purisch for a special presentation designed for licensed psychologists and those interested in expanding their practice to include neuropsychology.
Neurological and psychiatric disorders share many symptoms, making their differential diagnosis challenging. This webinar aims to explore the common symptoms and syndromes associated with brain injuries and dysfunction, which often manifest as classic psychiatric disorders. We will also delve into the crucial role played by various neurodiagnostic methods such as the clinical exam, structural and functional imaging, electrophysiological techniques, and the neuropsychological assessment in diagnosing brain trauma and differentiating it from PTSD, Somatic Symptom Disorders, Malingering and other psychiatric conditions.
