Fielding President Katrina Rogers has announced that Monique L. Snowden, PhD, will be the university’s new Provost and Senior Vice President, effective immediately. Monique has been with Fielding 10 years in many roles.

“Please join me in welcoming Monique to her new role,” President Rogers said, “and also to thank the Provost Search Committee for their dedicated efforts to achieve a successful outcome for the institution.

Dr. Snowden accepted her first higher education administrative position in 1997, after starting her professional career as a business analyst and consultant for a global technology solutions and services firm. Prior to joining the Fielding community in 2009, Dr. Snowden held senior administrator positions at Northwestern University and Texas A&M University.

Over the past decade she has contributed to Fielding as the inaugural associate provost for enrollment management, associate provost for academic & enrollment services, vice president for academic & enrollment services/accreditation liaison officer, vice president for institutional planning & effectiveness, and most recently interim provost & senior vice president.

Dr. Snowden holds a faculty appointment in Fielding’s School of Leadership Studies. She is also teaching faculty for the University of Southern California Race and Equity Center’s Equity Institutes; American Council on Education (ACE) Fellow; and Commissioner on the WASC Senior College and University (WSCUC) Commission. Dr. Snowden recently served as vice president for access and equity on the Board of Directors for the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO). She currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Santa Barbara & Ventura Colleges of Law and is Co-Chair of the Board of Trustees for Just Communities—a California nonprofit organization that works to “ensure that Central Coast schools, organizations, and communities are places of opportunity, not places of limitation.”

Dr. Snowden holds a Bachelors of Business Administration in Business Analysis; Masters of Science in Management Information Systems; and Doctorate of Philosophy in Communication—all from Texas A&M University’s main campus in College Station, TX. She also holds a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) designation from the Project Management Institute and a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) designation from ISACA.
