The Scholar-Practitioner at Fielding: Leadership for Individual and Social Transformation

In the School of Leadership Studies, students learn theory, engage in research, and create new knowledge to shed light on how to address today’s most pressing issues. Our school offers students the opportunity to become effective change agents. Recognizing the interconnections between individual, educational, organizational, and community development, we take a systemic, multidisciplinary approach to the study and practice of leadership for a more just society and a better world.

Transform educational, organizational, and social systems

Our school offers access to a global community of scholar-practitioners, learning together at a distance, online, and in-person at academic sessions held in North America and across the globe. With the support of mentoring faculty, students master a rigorous, personalized curriculum, while building a deep sense of community and shared learning.

"The program is especially valuable for practitioners.  The course content is timely and your “classmates” contribute insights through diverse lenses which enhance reflection, discussion, and overall learning."

Fielding's Leadership Vision

To face today's Wicked Problems, that is, problems that seem intractable, Fielding is exploring new models of leadership. We aim to empower scholar-practitioners to: develop new mindsets; use their research for practice; and derive from practice the compelling, relevant research questions that add to theory and help us make meaning of the future.
