Fielding EdD graduates Dr. Kathy Norwood (2013), PCC, and Dr. Mary Ann Burke (2013), PhD, EdD, MFT, are excited to announce our upcoming (July 29 & 30, 2021) International Symposium for Educators called RISE UP!

The idea for this symposium emerged out of our desire to inspire and energize educators as we prepare to return to full time in-person school. The pandemic has taught us that we are all much more connected than we ever imagined. We envision this time as an opportunity to reimagine and reinvent who we are and what we do as educators. Our goal is not to return to “normal” but to venture into the creation of a new brand of education that honors and serves everyone in our global community.

Our personal experience as transformational coach (Kathy) and trauma-certified Marriage Family Therapist (Mary Ann) have led us to create a line-up of speakers, panels, and music that are uniquely suited to meet the needs of educators who want to Rise Up from the ashes of a devastating pandemic to emerge renewed and transformed in their mission and purpose.

Our Symposium features a keynote presentation by Fielding President Dr. Katrina Rogers on “Social Justice: Leading and Teaching in a New Era.”

Presentation Time: July 30th 8:30am – 9:00am PST

Learn about new ways of thinking about social justice and applying these ideas into the classroom, coaching, and leadership context. This keynote offers practical examples for guiding social justice conversations within your own professional context and includes the exploration of a dashboard tool to support advocating for and advancing in diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Participants will gain a greater understanding of social justice considerations in teaching and leadership.

Tool Provided in Treasure Chest Resource Center: Diversity, equity, and inclusion dashboard tool
