PhD student Tatyana El-Kour earns two awards

Fielding Media Psychology student Tatyana El-Kour was recently honored with two awards at the American Psychological Association convention in San Francisco. She received a Division 52 (International Psychology) Award & Honorable Mention for her poster presentation.

The Division 52/Psi Chi International APA Convention Travel Grant provides Psi Chi students who live outside the US and are interested in international psychology with $1500 to support travel costs to attend and present research at the APA annual convention. She received a medal and certificate with this honor.

Division 52, the Division of International Psychology, represents the interest of all psychologists who foster international connections among psychologists, engage in multicultural research or practice, apply psychological principles to the development of public policy, or are otherwise concerned with individual and group consequences of global events, according to the American Psychology Association website.

She also received Honorable Mention for the North America region in the Student-First-Authored Poster Contest for her poster, “Is Facebook the Message of Nutrition Misinformation?” which she completed with Program Director Jerri Lynn Hogg and faculty member Dan Sewell.

Tatyana’s Division 52 Award

Tatyana has worn many hats in her career as a media psychologist, nutrition professional, clinician, public health officer, scientist, marketer, researcher, trainer, writer, manager, consultant, analyst, policy strategist and change agent.

She also has more than 17 years of multicultural expertise in national, regional, and global efforts related to policy, application, research, and practice intersecting public health, social and nutrition sciences, behavioral change, technology, and media.
