Fielding’s Alonso Center for Psychodynamic Studies Presents “Inquiring Deeply” with Dr. Marjorie Schuman

Blending the knowledge of contemporary psychoanalysis with the wisdom of Buddhist view, this presentation on January 20 will explore how mindfulness can be integrated into psychodynamic and relational psychotherapy as an aspect of self-reflection rather than as clinical technique.

Specifically, it will describe and illustrate how systematic introspection and self-inquiry can be used to amplify and unpack the psychodynamic dimensions of experience.

Marjorie Schuman, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist and certified psychoanalyst specializing in mindfulness-informed psychodynamic/relational psychotherapy. Currently in private practice in Santa Barbara, Dr. Schuman is also member of the faculty of the Los Angeles Institute and Society for Psychoanalytic Studies. She co-founded The Center for Mindfulness and Psychotherapy in Santa Monica.

Open to the public
7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, January 20
