Join the first post-pandemic Mid-Atlantic Cluster Meet-up on Saturday, May 20, 2023.

Students, faculty, staff, alums and prospective students are welcome.

Noon-4 p.m. Meeting at Fielding’s DC office

AGENDA

Noon-12:30 p.m. Meet and greet. Bring your own lunch and snacks.

12:30-1:30 p.m. Presentation skills workshop using Pecha Kucha. We will use the Pecha Kucha style presentation for our presentations to one another in future meetings. It allows for a 5–6-minute high-impact presentation useful for academia, conferences, business, and TED Talks.

1:45-4 p.m. Grant-related work, such as finding RFPs and writing proposals with Associate Dean for Research and Scholarship Katie McGraw, Ph.D.

4-5 p.m. Commute and check-in at the hotel (30 min).

We are booking at the Marc Center Hilton in Alexandria for the night of May 20, 2023. It is a full-service Hilton, like Santa Barbara, and is the best value for the area! It offers a restaurant, indoor and outdoor pools, and a fitness center. Use your Hilton Rewards Card!  It is about $149/ night, rather than the $329/ night in DC proper. When you book at the Hilton, add to special notes that you are with the Fielding Mid-Atlantic Cluster so we can get rooms near each other. Don’t forget your Hilton Honors card. It saves you money!

5:30-6 p.m. Meet in the lobby/ bar area of the hotel.

Who can attend?
The event is open to Fielding students, alumni, staff, prospective students, and faculty.

When do I need to RSVP by?
Please RSVP by April 20, 2023. We need a head count to get our space and temporary passes for each of us for the Fielding office organized. It will also help for reservations at the hotel and restaurant. We may be able to accommodate later replies but cannot guarantee it depending on available space.

Do I have to attend everything – the meeting at Fielding, the dinner, and the overnight?
Of course not! We would love to see you for the time you have!

I’m not staying overnight, so what do I do for the extra time?
You can stop by the Tidal Pool, which is on the way from the Fielding office to the hotel. It is stunning in the spring!
