Hosted by Terry H. Hildebrandt, PhD, MCC, MCEC, Director of Evidence Based Coaching, Fielding Graduate University

Executive coaching has become a key method for developing organizational leaders.  Organizations collectively are spending $2 billion annually for the coaching of current and emerging leaders. One of the factors critical for an effective change process, such as coaching, is the developmental readiness of an individual for that change. Despite the importance of readiness, there is no instrument or model of readiness that is widely used or relied upon. My dissertation research sought to identify the key factors that make-up developmental readiness. As a result of my dissertation research, I have developed a model to help organizations, coaches and other interested parties articulate and identify readiness for coaching. My upcoming conversation will focus on the important themes that emerged from my dissertation research, including elements that inform the developmental readiness of a potential coaching client.
