Zabrina Epps, Ph.D.
Zabrina Epps has been a Marie Fielder fellow since 2018 and recently completed the doctoral program in Human and Organizational Systems (HOS). In her study, Leading the Future: Superintendents’ Perceptions of Leadership and Future Education Systems, Zabrina interviewed school district leaders to explore their perspectives on leading for equity and envisioning future public education systems. She presented her research at the 2021 International Leadership Association (ILA) conference in Geneva, Switzerland.
Zabrina is a member of Fielding’s Board of Trustees, where she serves on the Governance Committee and the Reinvention/Reimagination Task Force. She previously served as a student member of HOD governance (Personnel and Faculty Development Committee) and an anchor for new student orientation (NSO). She has contributed to the Building Inclusion Council and the Chesapeake Cluster located in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
Ms. Epps served on the Prince George’s County (MD) Board of Education from 2012 – 2016. For over 15 years, she worked in higher education in faculty development and training, student affairs, and as an adjunct communications instructor. Before working in higher education, Zabrina worked in economic development, fiscal management, and state budget analysis. She also has more than 15 years of experience in public speaking and facilitation. As a professional coach, Zabrina guides educators and education leaders on how to use strategic foresight to create preferred personal and organizational futures.
