Daniel Sewell, PhD is Associate Provost for Research & Learning at Fielding Graduate University. Dan started working at Fielding in January, 2000. In that capacity he is working to further develop the research culture at Fielding by supporting faculty or groups including faculty to develop external funding for research projects. He is also helping to further develop the infrastructure for conducting research at Fielding. Dan will be working with Fielding students and alumni who wish to obtain research funding under the auspices of Fielding. He will be exploring ways to support those individuals in their search for collaborators, funding, etc. Dan received a PhD in Cognitive Psychology from Emory University in 1985. Since then, he has done research in cognitive psychology, clinical psychology, rehabilitation psychology, neuropsychology, systems analysis, artificial intelligence, organizational development, behavioral medicine, and public health. He also trained and worked as a psychotherapist for 9 years. Dan comes to Fielding from Louisiana State University Medical School where he was Research Coordinator for their campus in Lafayette, LA. He worked there for 4.5 years to help develop a research culture, help obtain research funding, and help various faculty members with design, implementation, completion, and publication/presentation of research projects.
