Year 1

Complete Courses:
  • PSY 500 Foundations of Doctoral Study, 4 credits
  • PSY 701A Research Methods I, 4 credits
  • PSY 701B Research  Methods II, 4 credits
  • PSY 704 Theories of Personality, 4 credits
  • PSY 708 Psychopathology, 4 credits
  • PSY 709 Legal, Ethical & Professional Practice, 4 credits 
  • PSY 710A Integrated Clinical Interview, 1 credit
  • PSY 710B Cognitive Assessment, 3 credits
  • PSY 711A Intro to Psychotherapy, 1 credit
  • PSY 715A Psychometric Theory, 3 credits
  • PSY 716A Statistical Methods, 4 credits
  • PSY 717 Multivariate Statistics, 4 credits
Residency Hours: 150 hours minimum

Year 2


Complete Courses:
  • 1.5 credits total of PSY 629 Practicum Case Seminar
  • 6 credits of PSY 695/630 Clinical Practicum/Clinical Assessment Practicum (first 500 clock hours)
  • PSY 680 Research Practicum, 5 credits (200 clock hours)
  • PSY 702 Developmental Bases of Behavior, 4 credits
  • PSY 706 Cognitive/Affective Bases of Behavior, 4 credits
  • PSY 707 Biological Bases of Behavior, 4 credits
  • PSY 710C Objective Assessment, 3 credits
  • Choose 5 credits:
    • PSY 710D Projective Assessment: Rorschach (R-PAS), 5 credits, OR
    • PSY 710E Projective Assessment: TAT, 3 credits,  AND 710F Cognitive/Behavioral Assessment, 2 credits
  • PSY 712, Multicultural Psychology, 4 credits
  • 3 credits of Research Skills Seminars (PSY RSS02, RSS04, and RSS05 are required for the degree, the remaining RSS credits are your choice)
Residency Hours: 150 hours minimum
MA degree requirements completed as well


Year 3

Complete Courses:
  • 1.5 credits total of PSY 629 Practicum Case Seminar
  • 6 credits of PSY 695/630 Clinical Practicum/Clinical Assessment Practicum (remaining 500 clock hours)
  • PSY 703 History & Systems of Psychology, 4 credits
  • PSY 705 Social Bases of Behavior, 4 credits
  • PSY 710G Integrated Assessment, 2 credits
  • PSY 711B Psychotherapy Research, 4 credits
  • PSY 745 Consultation/Supervision, 2 credits
  • 3 credits of Research Skills Seminars (If PSY RSS02, RSS04, and RSS05 were not completed in year 2, complete now; 6 credits total of RSSs are required)
  • PSY-800A Comprehensive Exam: Written, 4 credits
  • PSY-800B Comprehensive Exam: Oral, 4 credits
Residency Hours: Work toward remaining 300 hours
     (Note: state licensure requirement may be higher than 600 hour requirement)
Dissertation: Finish concept paper

Year 4

Complete Courses:
  • PSY 599 Residency Hours Completion, 600 clock hours total (Note: state licensure requirement may be higher than 600 hour requirement)
  • PSY 628 Dissertation Proposal Seminar, 1 credit
  • 6 credits of PSY 637 Dissertation Research: approvals of pre-proposal, IRB, and proposal
  • 12 credits of electives chosen from 718-770


Year 5

Complete Courses:

  • 6 credits of PSY 637 Dissertation Research: data collection, final orals
  • PSY 639 Dissertation Completion, 18 credits (proofreading and bindery/filing)

Clinical Internship: Begin application for full-time placement

Year 6

Clinical Internship: Begin and complete full time internship (PSY 696, 24 credits)
Graduation!
