Home  ::  Programs  ::  School of Psychology  ::  Respecialization in Clinical Psychology Post-Doctoral Cert

The need for clinical psychologists is expected to grow 15% by 2016, faster than most other professions. Many clinical psychologists are leaders in the wide field of psychology.  Members of this prestigious and growing profession fulfill important local and regional needs for clinical psychological services, and their efforts make a difference all over the world.

If you hold a PhD in a non-clinical area of psychology, our Respecialization in Clinical Psychology post-doctoral certificate program can provide you with the knowledge and training you need to be licensed as a clinical psychologist.  As a mid-career adult, you face unique opportunities and challenges that this program accommodates.  You experience collaborative, competency-based learning and assessment, as well as flexible scheduling.

You become part of a dynamic and diverse community of faculty, other students, and alumni colleagues.  Meet other highly qualified adult students who bring a rich diversity of prior learning and professional experience, and engage with faculty and alumni who are active scholars and practitioners and are nationally recognized in their professional areas of specialization.

Within a local cluster meeting, you join students from both the Respecialization in Clinical Psychology certificate and Clinical Psychology PhD programs. The faculty advisor in your geographic area is your mentor throughout your time in the program, and leads the cluster meeting. You also meet and interact with other faculty, student, and alumni colleagues from across the US and Canada at session events as well as having interactions via e-mail, telephone, and our online environment.

The School of Psychology offers the only Clinical Psychology doctoral program utilizing distributed delivery of many program components and accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) (APA Commission on Accreditation, 750 First St. NE, Washington, DC  20002, 202.336.5959).

The Respecialization in Clinical Psychology post-doctoral certificate program accepts applications only from individuals who reside in the contiguous United States (except Oregon, Oklahoma, & Kansas) and Canada. Thus the program is not offered in Hawaii, Alaska, or internationally (except to Canadian students).
