Curriculum:

The Nonprofit Leadership certificate curriculum consists of eight face-to-face meetings and two terms of online courses: ODL-621 and ODL-622. You will complete 8 semester credits of coursework in order to graduate.

Required Courses

ODL-621 Strategic Leadership for Nonprofits, 4 semester credits
This course focuses on leadership, strategic planning, board development, and talent management issues facing contemporary nonprofit organizations. The content will include step-by-step processes, forms and resources that will strengthen internal and external relations, cultural competency and advocacy.
ODL-622 Evidence Based Management, 4 semester credits
Evidence based management focuses on outcomes driven by clear program design, evaluation, and marketing. These foundations support fund raising, grant writing, and financial viability that sustain a nonprofit’s competitive advantage.
 
If you want to take your education to the next level, these credits will apply toward Fielding’s Master of Arts in Organizational Development & Leadership.

Dr. Peter MacDougall
Peter MacDougall served as superintendent/president of Santa Barbara City College (SBCC) from
1981 to 2002 and has managed various leadership roles in local philanthropic enterprises.

Dr. Chuck Slosser
Chuck Slosser has spent more than 35 years in various positions within the nonprofit sector. He was the previous president and CEO of the Santa Barbara Foundation.

Dr. Anita Perez Ferguson
Anita Perez Ferguson is a visiting scholar for the Woodrow Wilson Foundation in Princeton and the Chair of the InterAmerican Foundation in Washington, DC.

Stuart Jenkins
Stuart Jenkins is the Vice President of Innovations at Deckers Outdoor Corporation, where he drives innovation initiatives for both the company and its six footwear brands.
