- Experience an online course from the perspective of the learner
- Explore and integrate various online teaching, learning and instructional design strategies
- Explore and integrate the concept of learning communities in online teaching
- Explore and integrate the concept of social presence into online teaching
- Develop or refine an online course or program demonstrating good instructional design techniques and deliver components of that course either to peer learners or to students
- Demonstrate effective facilitation skills for an online course.
- Explore the use of technical tools such as blogs, wikis, whiteboards, and presentations (PowerPoint, audio, and video) for use in online courses.
- Develop strategies to increase learner retention in online courses and programs
- Identify the forms assessment and evaluation taken online and develop and integrate appropriate strategies
- Develop strategies to integrate student and course evaluation with program evaluation
- Demonstrate appropriate technology integration into a face-to-face course, a hybrid course, or a fully online course
