Kuipers. Dr. Moss earned a PhD in clinical psychology in 1983 from Fielding Graduate University's program in clinical psychology. Her dissertation research was on constructive responses to severe psychological trauma. Dr. Moss is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice. In the early 1980's, Dr. Moss was one of twelve Fielding clinical psychology students who traveled to Prague, Czechoslovakia, to assess the city's mental health needs. She continues to serve on the boards of many civic, social service, and arts organizations in the greater Los Angeles area. Nancy and George Moss have four children and seven grandchildren.
They divide their time between homes in San Marino and Mendocino. "Nancy exemplifies the transformation experienced by many Fielding alumni who appreciate the opportunity they found to pursue advanced degrees at mid-life and mid-career while maintaining family life. Dr. Moss enrolled in graduate school at a time when few universities recognized the flexibility of time and place required for study by women who are working, raising a family, and have dreams of further learning and professional growth. At Fielding, she was able to pursue her dream of earning her doctorate. Nancy and George Moss are now able to give back in this generous way," said President Kuipers. "It is such a thrill for us to give something back to Fielding, a place that has given me so much! Fielding holds a very special place in my life, and I am so very grateful that we have the ability to help shape the university's important future," said Nancy Owen Moss. Fielding Graduate University is headquartered in
Santa Barbara, CA, where it was founded in 1974. It is a world-recognized
leader in graduate education, having created one of the first and most
successful distributed learning models for mid-career adults. Fielding
is an accredited, nonprofit graduate university offering programs within

learning; social justice and change; and innovation in organizations,
