Santa Barbara, CA (August 6, 2007) ..."Erik Gregory, PhD, has been appointed assistant director of the Media Psychology Program at Fielding Graduate University," announced Director Bernie Luskin. "Gregory will also serve as director of the master's degree programs. He will continue in his faculty role as well as taking on administrative duties in this burgeoning program," Luskin said.

Gregory earned his doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his master's degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He has lectured internationally on the subjects of creativity, media and culture, and education. Gregory is also a clinical associate in Harvard Medical School's Department of Psychiatry in Boston, Massachusetts. Gregory has worked on media-related children's programs such as "Bob the Builder" and studies digital gaming and virtual reality and narrative media.

"I am delighted with this appointment," Gregory commented. "I have found that the media psychology students at Fielding are quality students. They bring with them personal and professional life experience, making them capable students, teachers, and scholar-practitioners."

Fielding's innovative Media Psychology Program is the first PhD program in media psychology in the United States. The new PhD program honored its first graduates July 2007.
