May 13, 2007, Santa Barbara, CA…Fielding Graduate University marks the end of its 30th Anniversary Campaign, with over $6 million in contributions and planned gifts. Judith L. Kuipers, PhD, Fielding president, announced that the three-year campaign raised over twice its original goal and was the most successful fundraising effort in the university's history.

Fielding alumni, faculty, trustees, staff, and friends around the world generously contributed, as did numerous corporations and foundations, toward funds for endowment, scholarships, and development of new initiatives that include:

• Creative Longevity & Wisdom Initiative
• Worldwide Network for Gender Empowerment
• Institute for Social Innovation

Sara Miller McCune, Santa Barbara philanthropist and founder of Sage Publications, Inc. (Thousand Oaks), is a long-time Fielding supporter, having served in the past as a trustee, Board chair, and as acting president. During the recent campaign, Ms. McCune made a bequest of $1 million to the campaign and a gift of $500,000 to establish a permanent residence for Fielding presidents.

Santa Barbara resident Frank Jankovitz demonstrated his commitment to adult education and to Fielding with a major gift that established the Creative Longevity & Wisdom Initiative. The initiative supports research and professional practice to initiate, develop, and sustain creativity and wisdom development among the aging.
