April 25, 2007, Santa Barbara, CA…Fielding's graduate-level Evidence Based Coaching (EBC) program has been granted accreditation by the International Coach Federation (ICF), it was announced today by Charles McClintock, PhD, dean of the School of Human & Organization Development.

“This is very exciting as the accreditation signifies that graduates have completed training that fulfils ICF requirements at the Professional Coach Certification level. The program is unique in that it offers ICF certification and graduate credit, both at the master’s and PhD level. Fielding is one of two schools in the United States offering this option at the master’s level, and the only university offering PhD graduate credit with ICF certification,” said Leni Wildflower, PhD, manager, Evidence Based Coaching

The EBC program teaches coaching strategies and techniques based on researched theories from a range of related disciplines including psychology, leadership theory, communication, adult development, and adult learning. Participants in the program receive education and training in face-to-face sessions, via telephone, and through three on-line courses geared towards experienced professionals. Fielding’s Evidence Based Coaching certificate is one of several Lifelong Learning courses of study offered through the School of Human & Organization Development.
