Dr. Trybus earned his PhD in psychology from St. Louis University in St. Louis, MO. Among his academic appointments during the past decade are chancellor, California School of Professional Psychology in San Diego; dean of graduate studies, then provost and vice president for academic affairs at National University; and vice president and director of research at San Diego University for Integrative Studies. Dr. Trybus is a licensed psychologist committed to improving the quality of psychological services. Much of his career has focused on issues of human diversity and underserved populations. He has done extensive work in providing psychological services, research, and educational opportunities for persons who are deaf or hard of hearing. In accepting the position, Dr. Trybus stated "I have known of and admired Fielding Graduate University for many years. Our faculty and the graduate education learning model Fielding developed for mid-career professionals are held in high regard by our peers in affiliated academic fields." The school also offers postgraduate certificate programs in neuropsychology and a respecialization in clinical psychology.
