Fielding represented at Society for Phenomenology and Human Sciences conference in Chicago, November 6-8, 2007

Fielding Graduate University was represented by faculty, alumni, and students at the annual meeting of the Society for Phenomenology and Human Sciences in Chicago, November 6-8, 2007.

Faculty members David Rehorick and Valerie Bentz presented a paper titled "Transformative Phenomenology: Changing Ourselves, Lifeworlds and Professional Practice." They discussed the content of their forthcoming book by that title, which features the work of nine Fielding alumni and other scholar-practitioners.

Human and Organization Development students Barbara Volger and Lori Schneider presented papers titled respectively "The Power of Shame in Jewish Women: A Phenomenological Exploration of Cultural Messages" and "Dwelling/Working Here: The Local/Global Work Place of the Remote Worker."

It was chaired by Bentz (second from right) and included Rehorick (far left), Schneider (far right), and discussant George Psathas (second from left) who is a professor emeritus of Boston University.
