Transfer Credit Procedure
and Policy: Human & Organization Development Ph.D. program |
Incoming students are
eligible to receive up to 20 units of transfer credit based on the following
qualifications:
- Transfer courses
must be either taken post-master in a regionally accredited institution
or they must be part of a formal articulation agreement with a regionally
accredited masters program.
- Courses must be
taken within the last 5 years.
- Grades in the courses
must be "B" or better (3.0 or better on a 4 point scale).
- Courses must be
judged to be equivalent to a current elective knowledge area in the
current program curriculum. Transfer credit may not be applied to the
foundational/required knowledge area courses. Generally, three related
courses must be transferred at 3 or 4 credits each in order to be equivalent
to one HOD knowledge area.
- In order to meet
doctoral education standards, there must be at least one scholarly paper
required from within the courses transferred. Essays, examinations and
reports can be accepted for the remainder of the assessment equivalency.
- The program will
also consider awarding transfer credit for workforce courses evaluated
by the American Council on Education (ACE) National Guide to College
Credit for Workforce Training program.
Transfer credits will
be awarded at the time of admission to the graduate program. There will
be no retroactive granting of transfer credits for students currently
in the program.
Regarding work completed
in graduate programs that are accredited through systems other than the
regional accrediting bodies, such coursework may not be transferred. Rather,
the program will consider waivers of requirements. Please consult the
Exemptions from Requirements policy (link below).
