Courses In the neuropsychological assessment courses, students learn how to administer, score and interpret neuropsychological tests and batteries and to use certain intelligence tests as neuropsychological instruments. They will study profiles of patients with various neuropathological disorders and learn about various rehabilitative methods and techniques appropriate for specific patient groups. Between class meetings, students complete assignments and practice test administration, scoring and interpretation. At the end of each neuropsychological assessment course, students are required to submit a professional work sample. Clinical Experience /Supervision The 200-hour case supervision is typically obtained in a group format and each student is required to present at least one full case workup for supervision each semester. A minimum of 75% of the supervision hours is obtained from the student's core faculty member. Up to 25% of the supervision hours may be obtained from guest faculty or outside supervisors that are board certified by either the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology or the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology and approved by the faculty member. The 1000-hour self-guided clinical experience is conducted in the student's work or other approved sites. Up to twenty hours can be applied to any single neuropsychological case requiring clinical activities, for a minimum of at least 50 cases over the course of the program. At the end of the program, students will submit a written, comprehensive case study and will be orally examined by the faculty. This constitutes the final professional evaluation (FPE).
