Getting Help From Fielding Library Services

You have several options for asking for assistance from Fielding Library Services:
  • Use the Ask A Librarian form*. This is our preferred method, as it provides you a structure for asking for help that may reduce the need for subsequent clarifications to resolve your question/issue, provides the option of asking for a live online help session if needed, is sent immediately to us via our own internal messaging system, and sends us a link to your FELIX Business Card, so we know immediately who you are. (Requires prior FELIX login.)

  • Send an email message to library@fielding.edu. If you choose this option, please enter a Subject line that expresses what you need help with (not just "Help, please"), be specific in describing the question/issue/problem in the message, and let us know what, if anything, you have already tried to resolve it, and what the outcome was, so we don't suggest something first that you may have already tried. If you are a student or faculty member at FGU, please indicate that, along with your academic program. Please note that sometimes our spam filters do inadvertently catch emails sent to us, so this method isn't always as foolproof as the Ask A Librarian form.

  • Call +1-805-898-2956. If leaving a voice message, please clearly state your name, best phone number(s) and date(s)/time(s) to reach you, the same information you would submit via the above options, and your email address. Depending on the nature of the answer, we may respond via email, rather than phone; for instance, if it involves referring you to one or more web addresses.
You will receive a response as soon as possible, usually within one Fielding business day (Mon-Fri 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Pacific time). If you do not receive a message from Library Services within a business day, check the "Junk" folder in your email program or provider's email interface. See this Helpdesk solution for more information on this.
