HOD's highly regarded interdisciplinary faculty provides students with the guidance they need to bring their personal and professional experience to the curriculum. Students pursue their own interests and work with faculty in designing creative ways to demonstrate their knowledge and competence.

The HOD doctoral program offers a distributed approach to graduate education. Distributed education at Fielding means students can choose from a variety of learning environments, including independent study, online seminars, and face-to-face sessions and workshops. They may work solo or collaborate with other students in their local area or at a distance. The only required face-to-face residency is our five-day New Student Orientation.

The doctoral curriculum draws from a range of disciplines including:

HOD's accomplished faculty has demonstrated their dedication to the School of Human & Organization development through their abiding long-term commitments to the doctoral program and its students. Many faculty members have been with the program for over a decade. Fielding Graduate University is one of the few non-profit, independent graduate universities where the majority of its faculty is full-time. Fielding faculty are scholar-practitioners who understand the importance of integrating academic knowledge with an understanding of real world problems.

In addition to a faculty mentor, each student has access to a full range of academic support services, including Fielding's networked learning community, extensive online library, and specialized research resources .

Regular information sessions are held in a variety of cities throughout the country, as well as by teleconference. These sessions provide prospective students the opportunity to ask questions and participate in discussions regarding the doctoral programs.
