Diversity is the name of my game! I have had a varied career
background, and Fielding has a way of combining all aspects for me to
move into a new era working with the aged population. Currently I am working
as a tour director for a group travel company. In a nutshell, I escort
(usually) 65-80 year old tourists on luxury vacations throughout the world.
This type work is somewhat new for me as much of my career in education
has been as a classroom educator. Now the world is my classroom! I also
travel for the company and promote the tours that we sell.
My other experiential work includes:
Instructing psychology and clothing classes at UW-Stout,
Menomonie, WI and Emily Griffith Opportunity school in Denver, CO
Project manager on research, marketing and multi-media
venues
Creating and presenting travel documentaries from personal
world-travel excursions
Grant manager providing technology resources for k-20
educators throughout the state of Colorado working through the Center
for teaching, learning and technology.
Niche photography business photographing expectant mothers
Design consultant/custom sewing business
My formal education has always had a Fielding approach.
My BA from Metropolitan State University in Denver, Colorado (1998) was
through an independent degree program (IDP); I titled my degree Geography
presentation. It continued through an MS in Training and Development from
the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 2004 as I exchanged courses in the
program to better suit my learning needs.
The initiative of Creative Longevity and Wisdom is the perfect
home for my work at Fielding Graduate University. Receiving this fellowship
supports my work with the aged population. I want to combine the third
quarter population with their learning through world travel and sharing
it with children in the k-12 environment.
I live temporarily in Menomonie, Wisconsin (70 miles
east of St Paul, MN) with my son. My birth family grew up in central WI,
but my deep roots in Colorado are calling me home.
