About the Nash Fellowship Two-Year Special Doctoral Fellowship Announcement in Advocacy for
the Elderly
This fellowship was donated by an HOD doctoral faculty
member and Faculty Fellow in Creative Longevity and Wisdom in memory of
her mother, Frances Nash.
Background on the Initiative
One of the major human development trends identified in conjunction with
Fielding's research to define the next 25 years for our University is
the changing age demographics in American and European society. The good
news is that many of us may live to be one hundred years old or more.
The challenge is how we will use this new opportunity and how might our
organizations and society respond to these changes. The "Creative
Longevity and Wisdom" Research Group is a forum around which Fielding
is organizing opportunities for new research, a variety of special projects,
academic programs and hopefully a physical center of excellence where
people come together to address some of these new opportunities and challenges.
Criteria for Fellowship
The goals and the purpose of this fellowship is to promote research and
practice in the area of advocacy for the elderly. We intend this fellow
to work closely with the planning team to help write and seek grants for
funding our creative and longevity fellowships and initiative for future
years.
