Don Lynd recently retired after 40 plus years as a practitioner engaged in
systems development, organizational development and military logistics
in order to focus on being a scholar.
Don is a Licensed Professional Engineer. He holds a Bachelor
of Industrial Engineering degree from the Ohio State University and an
MBA from Auburn University. He is also a graduate of the U.S.A.F. Air
Command and Staff College and the U.S. Army War College.
Don's engineering career included development of integrated
systems as Manager of Systems Applications and organization development
for Anchor Hocking Corporation. Prior to his military retirement as Director
of Resources for the Ohio Air National Guard, he served at the Pentagon
as Chief of Information Systems for the Air National Guard. Before his
latest retirement, his work with the U.S. Department of Agriculture included
organization and systems development and management of the wholesale market
development program.
His interest in the area of human development began over
20 years ago by becoming a facilitator of the Investment in Excellence
program of the Pacific Institute. He then was certified as a facilitator
of Tony Buzan's Improving Mental Performance program and qualified as
an administrator of The Myers-Briggs Type Instrument.
Don's dissertation research interest relates to personality
type, temperament and life after retirement. Most recently, he was awarded
a fellowship to study cross-generational development with the Fielding
Graduate University's Creative Longevity and Wisdom Initiative.
