Elena
Gillespie is a research investigator in medicine at the university of
Birmingham, UK. She has a B.S. in molecular biology and is currently pursuing
a Ph.D. at Fielding Graduate University in Human Organizational Development
with a focus on research in human consciousness.
She has completed a study on the effects of Reiki in the
management of chronic pain in the complications of diabetes at the University
of Michigan, Ann Arbor. The results of this study are pending publication
in the peer-reviewed journal, Diabetes Care in Spring 2007.
She has a wide variety of interests within the field of
healing, which were widened into human consciousness studies when it became
apparent that one's spiritual, emotional and physical status deeply affects
one's ability to heal, cope, and evolve in one's life. These interests
have involved energy therapies, the death and dying process from an energetic
perspective, and the effects of music on group consciousness.
Her most recent achievement has been to be awarded a Fellowship
in the Creativity, Longevity and Wisdom Initiative, where she will be
analyzing aspects of medicine, neurophysiology, anthropology, sociology
and energy medicine in reference to the uses and purpose of music in human
consciousness development.
