The Institute for Social Innovation (ISI) supports the creation of social capital by strengthening the capacity of individuals and organizations to address societal problems.

Housed in Fielding’s School of Human and Organization Development (HOD), ISI is organized into three program areas: frontiers in research, leadership for change, and organizational development.

Fielding Graduate University created the Institute for Social Innovation to build social capital by strengthening the capacity of individuals and organizations to address societal issues.

Our approach is to support three areas of effort: the development of frontiers in research, building leadership for change, and facilitating organizational development. Housed in Fielding’s School of Human & Organization Development (HOD), ISI supports projects that exemplify the following principles:

  • Collaboration among foundations, government agencies, businesses, and non-governmental organizations
  • Individual and institutional development through participatory change
  • Knowledge that blends multidisciplinary theory and professional practice
