|
Module I: Introduction to Integral Studies - September
24 - December 14, 2007
This provides a basic introduction to the core concepts of Integral
Theory, their interrelationships, and their potential applications, across
a range of specific disciplines (e.g., business, criminology, ecology).
In addition, students have opportunities to practice applying Integral
Theory to aspects of their own personal and professional lives. Each of
the five elements of the Integral model (Quadrants, Levels, Lines, States,
and Types) will be explored in detail.
Module II: Advanced Integral Studies: January 28 -
April 18, 2008
This twelve week online course provides an in-depth exploration of
the core concepts of Integral Theory and their interrelationships. It
also introduces more subtle aspects of the theory, and provides opportunities
for more sophisticated and in depth applications. Students will expand
and refine their capacity to make use of a new and unique lens for interpreting
and integrating material and information from a wide range of traditional
disciplines/areas of study. Students will also have opportunities to practice
applying Integral Theory to aspects of their own disciplines/professions.
A particular emphasis will be placed on Integral Methodological Pluralism
and the relationship between epistemology, ontology, and methodology.
Module III: May 19 - August 8, 2008
This final online course provides an in-depth engagement with the
application of Integral Theory to various fields. Students will draw on
these applied case studies in developing their own detailed applications.
Each student will apply the Integral model to her/his own field of work,
discipline, particular job/mode of employment/career, or to a discipline/field/career
area in which he/she is strongly interested in working. Particular emphasis
will be placed on using the five elements of the Integral model (Quadrants,
Levels, Lines, States, and Types).
