Rapid change in social and business environments has led to the explosive growth of coaching as a profession. In response to current demand for the field of coaching to become more academically rigorous and research-based, Fielding Graduate University has designed a 12-week Evidence Based Coaching (EBC) Certificate program. This program offers four distinct advantages:

1. It is an academic certificate offering 4 units of graduate credit, in addition to certification by Fielding in Evidence Based Coaching Theory.
2. It is offered entirely online with no residency or training requirements.
3. The credit earned in the 12-week program satisfies the first of 3 required courses in the year-long program, giving students an opportunity to "sample" the field of Evidence Based Coaching.
4. Completing the 12-week program gives students a "head start" on completing the year-long program. The year-long Evidence Based Coaching program is one of the only accredited coaching programs which grants graduate-level academic credit and prepares students to apply for credentials from the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

Evidence Based Coaching brings theory and research from a variety of disciplines, including psychology, communication, and organizational studies, together with current techniques and strategies in coaching. Combining Evidence Based coaching with distance delivery adds a whole new dimension to this program. Because Fielding is a premier provider of collaborative online education, this certificate combines knowledge of theory, research and practice in coaching with the latest techniques in distance and online coaching delivery. Participants learn how to develop an online presence, deliver feedback, and facilitate coaching discussions online.
