For Sponsors

Nonprofit organizations, just like businesses, benefit from good management and attention to organizational strategy and culture. However, the groups that provide the critical social services in our community don't have the same access to management expertise as for-profit businesses do. That's where we at Fielding come in.

For more than 20 years, Fielding Graduate University's School of Human and Organization Development (HOD)—one of the nation's largest doctoral programs in management and organizational systems—has provided organizational development services in Santa Barbara to nonprofit and for-profit organizations from Fielding faculty and doctoral students.

Several major nonprofits in Santa Barbara have received assistance with organizational issues. ISI has worked with such organizations as Women's Economic Ventures, Santa Barbara Community Environmental Council, the Jewish Community Federation, Transition House Homeless Shelter, and Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinics. For more information on these initiatives, visit the organizational development page.

ISI also works on a collaborative project with the Nonprofit Support Center of Santa Barbara County. This project is possible through the generosity of a number of local sponsors.

Fielding would like to thank the following corporate partners whose generosity has made possible our current partnership with the Nonprofit Support Center of Santa Barbara:
:

  • The Towbes Group Inc
  • Hutton Foundation
  • Santa Barbara Bank and Trust
  • Santa Barbara Travel Bureau
  • ABC Clio Inc.
  • Other anonymous sponsors

Our professional development experts (faculty, alumni with doctorates, and doctoral candidates with more than five years business experience) have worked in corporations and the nonprofit sector in effective internal communications, group facilitation, team building and staff morale, board development, cultural competency, program evaluation, strategic planning, policy and board development and governance. All have an extensive background in organization development and are interested in studying and serving the nonprofit sector. Students receive practicum credit toward their doctoral requirements. ISI work includes:

  • Evaluation projects that support positive change
  • Mini-conferences to disseminate innovative practices
  • Training projects to strengthen evaluation and management skills
  • Consulting services for organizational development & cultural competency for local nonprofits

As corporate sponsors of specific nonprofits or of ISI itself, business partners are identified as ISI Founding Sponsors on the Fielding website and in all ISI promotional materials. Sponsorship is a tax deductible contribution to ISI and Fielding Graduate University, a nonprofit educational institution.
