New Initiatives Broaden Fielding's Reach
SANTA BARBARA, California -- Gifts to Fielding and the 30th Anniversary Campaign are enriching the academic experience with the creation of new initiatives that are bringing new members to the Fielding community and extending Fielding’s impact on the world:
The Louis and Adele Osherson Fellowship brings two Fellows per year—from a pool of educators, non-clinical doctorates, writers, and artists—to a Fielding Winter Session to receive psychodynamic training and participate in seminars and events. The Fellows in turn add to the diversity of discussion at Fielding. Originally created from Osherson family gifts, the success of the program has attracted generous new funding from Fielding friends and community members. The Worldwide Network for Gender Empowerment (WNGE) is a community of networks of scholars and activists from around the world, who are committed to research and action in support of knowledge and change, related to women's and gender issues. Significant gifts to WNGE have paved the way for two assistantships to help develop and moderate the online environment and support the participatory action research for the network.
