Fielding Graduate University is approved for the certification of educational assistance from the Department of Veterans Affairs. Fielding's financial aid office members are not employees of the Department of Veterans Affairs and do not have access to Veteran's records. We will certify class enrollment to the V.A. and monitor academic progress.

Detailed information regarding available benefits, eligibility requirements and VA application materials are available at the U.S. Veterans Benefits & Services Web site at http://www.gibill.va.gov. If you have questions regarding your eligibility, you can call 888.GIBILL1.

HOW TO APPLY

You must be admitted to Fielding to apply for VA benefits.

To apply, please complete:

    1. The VA form applicable to your service or association with VA benefits. Most students complete form 22-1995 or 22-1990. All VA forms are administered by the VA and are available at http://www.gibill.va.gov. Please send the original to the VA and a copy to Fielding. Any questions regarding these VA forms can be answered at 888.GIBILL1.
    2. Academic Evaluation form
    3. Policies for Veterans Please read it in its entirety. Please sign and return the last page.

Please send your Academic Evaluation form , the signed last page of the Policies for Veterans and a copy of your VA application to:

When will I receive my benefits?
PhD and EdD candidates: VA benefits are retroactive. If you demonstrate satisfactory academic progress during your review period, then your benefits will be certified retroactively at the end of your review period. A benefits check will be mailed directly from the VA office to your home.

For all students, failure to make satisfactory academic progress may mean a suspension in your VA Benefits.

Approved leave of absence or withdrawal
If you ever withdraw or take a leave of absence from Fielding, you must let Fielding's Veteran's Certifying Official know immediately. This will be reported to the VA.

Of special interest for Clinical Psychology students
Psychology students may find the VA Special Fellowship Program in Advanced Psychiatry and Psychology of interest.
