Institute for Social Innovation Awards
The Institute for Social Innovation (ISI) supports graduate scholarships, educational programs, and research projects that further social innovation for a humane global future. The Institute for Social Innovation research award is offered to students engaged in dissertation research or research leading to the dissertation, which are of interest to the mission of the ISI. These topics include research to improve the well-being of individuals in their communities, research that deepens understanding of civil society, social change, nonprofit research, and cross-sectoral analysis (as it relates to social change). These awards support projects that 1) promote social innovation through collaborations among foundations, government agencies, business, and NGOs.; 2) strengthen individuals and institutions through participatory and collaborative change; and 3) integrate knowledge from theory and professional practice for sustainable change.

Eligibility Criteria: Current students in any Fielding doctoral program who are in good academic standing and working on their dissertations or on research leading to their dissertations are eligible to apply.
How to Apply: There are two award cycles per year; the deadlines are in May and October. There is no application form; applicants should send the following to the administrative contact: 1) One page cover letter of interest, and, 2) Two page description of project (include research project title), and 3. One reference from a faculty member (faculty member should email a paragraph supporting your application directly to
bbertero@fielding.edu).
