With the assistance of a mentor and a dissertation committee, students complete an action-oriented dissertation aimed at contributing new knowledge to educational leadership, social change, learning communities or community development.  The dissertation project typically develops over the length of the program.

The dissertation committee is composed of the following members:

• Research Faculty, an ELC faculty member
• Faculty Reader
• Student Reader
• External Reader
