Barbara P. Mink is the Director of and faculty member in CCLC. She serves on the Board of Trustees of the Austin Community College District. She was first elected to the Board in 2000 and served as Board President, 2004-2006. Dr. Mink was re-elected (Board members in Texas must run and be elected through public election) to a second 6-year term, 2006-2012. She currently serves as the President of the Texas Association of Community College Trustees and Administrators. Dr. Mink has both taught in community colleges and served as a senior administrator. She holds an EdD in Higher Education, a master's degree in mathematics and education, and a bachelor's degree in mathematics and geology all from Duke University. She is the author or co-author of nine books and numerous articles and professional workbooks related to leadership and organizational change and as done international consulting for over 30 years in these areas. Dr. Mink is active in regional educational planning as a member of the Board of Directors of Envision Central Texas (ECT). As Chair of the ECT Committee on Economic Development, she works with numerous organizations and agencies to address the issues related to developing and maintaining an educated workforce in Central Texas. Rodney Beaulieu was a co-founder of Fielding Graduate University's School of Educational Leadership and Change where he currently serves as a faculty member. Dr. Beaulieu taught computer science courses at the University of California and Santa Barbara City College, and psychology courses for Santa Barbara City College, Ventura College, San Diego City College, and California State University, San Marcos. Dr. Beaulieu's community college experience began immediately after his high school graduation. He attended community colleges in Maine, Massachusetts, and California in numerous academic areas. He holds a PhD from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in Educational Psychology. More recently, he published a landmark article about the planning and implementation of online distance learning among the California Community Colleges. Sheila T. Gregory is a faculty
mentor for the Fielding Graduate University. She has served for 14 years
on the faculty of several postsecondary institutions at all levels. Dr.
Gregory is author of six scholarly books and several dozen articles and
book chapters. She has conducted three Visiting Research Appointments
at the American University in Cairo, Egypt; the University of South Australia,
Adelaide; and the University of the West Indies campuses in Jamaica, Barbados,
and Trinidad-Tobago. Dr. Gregory continues to serve on several national
boards and consults with numerous universities, community colleges, school
districts, and tribal associations around the country and abroad. She
holds a PhD in Higher Education Administration from the University of
Pennsylvania, an M.P.A. in Health Care Administration from Wayne State
University, and a BA in Communications and Journalism from Oakland University. Cynthia Heelan is an educational consultant and a faculty member at Fielding Graduate University. She has over 30 years of experience in community colleges. Dr. Heelan was President at Colorado Mountain College and also served as an associate dean and as a vice president of Minnesota community colleges. Dr. Heelan is: a past chair of the American Association of Community College Board of Directors; a past commissioner of the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Accrediting Association, the Colorado Rural Workforce Consortium Board, and the Community College Research Center at Teachers College, Columbia University; past chair of the Colorado Literacy Commission, and the Minnesota Association of Continuing Adult Education. Dr. Heelan holds a PhD in Policy Analysis and Administration and a master's degree in Adult Education from the University of Minnesota. She was a Bush Foundation Fellow in the College Management Program at Carnegie Mellon University where she completed post-doctoral study. Lenneal Henderson is currently a faculty member at the Fielding Graduate University and a Distinguished Professor of Government and Public Administration and a Senior Fellow in the William Donald Schaefer Center for Public Policy at the University of Baltimore. He has taught at or consulted with several community colleges in California and Maryland. He is also a Fulbright Senior Specialist and a Fellow in the National Academy of Public Administration. He received his A.B., M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California, Berkeley. Dr Henderson has taught at the Community College of Alameda, Canada College of California and supported the work of Howard Community College, Baltimore County Community College and Garrett Community Colleges in Maryland. Dr. Henderson is a member of AACC and robustly applauds the work and scholarship of the Association. Bernard J. Luskin is Executive Vice President, Director of the Media Psychology Program and the Director of the Kellogg Community College Leadership Legacy Project at the Fielding Graduate University. He was the founding president of Coastline Community College, was president of Orange Coast College, and founding Chancellor of Jones International University. Dr. Luskin served as Chair of the Board of Directors of The American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) and as AACC Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Dr. Luskin also held community college positions as vice chancellor, dean of admissions and counseling, director of vocational education, and has served as a faculty member. He is a founding member of The League for Innovation in the Community College, The Council for Resource Development (CRD), and has received lifetime achievement awards from CRD, The University of Florida Center for Higher Education (Bellweather Award), and the UCLA Doctoral Alumni Association. He is author of nine books and more than 200 articles and while at AACC he established The Community College Press. Lee Mahon has served as an elementary and secondary school teacher and administrator, a community college instructor and the Director of the Educational Administration and Masters Degree Program at Santa Clara University. At Santa Clara University Dr. Mahon designed the first masters degree program for community college teachers, support staff and administrators. The program emphasis was on leadership which remains a dominant theme where academic knowledge and skills are put into practice to solve real-world problems. Approximately five years ago, Dr. Mahon started the first community college emphasis program in the Santa Clara Cluster which has since graduated 6 community college instructors, 3 of whom have become community college administrators. At Fielding Graduate University her role as a full time faculty member is to assist adult learners combine theory with practice in programs that emphasize academic understanding, research and applied activities. Through a continuous open and instructive dialogue, she works to help students to become scholar practitioners either in the world of education or the world of business. She presently serves on 8 non-profit boards, is a civil rights consultant for California Community Colleges, consults with school districts, community colleges, and higher education on executive searches, and serves as a constituent member of Fielding Graduate University, Board of Trustees. Geraldine M. Perri is President of Cuyamaca College in San Diego County, California. She has close to twenty-five years of experience in community colleges. In addition to teaching full time in a community college for close to ten years, Dr. Perri has held various administrative leadership positions ranging from associate dean, dean, vice president and president on both the east and west coast. Dr. Perri serves on the California Community Colleges Economic and Workforce Development Program Advisory Committee, the San Diego Workforce Investment Board (WIB), the San Diego Workforce Advancement Committee, and she is president of the Grossmont-Cuyamaca College District Auxiliary Organization. Dr. Perri, a community college graduate herself, has a PhD and MA in Human and Organizational Development from the Fielding Graduate University, an MA and BA in Health Education from New York University and an A.A.S. degree from Hostos Community College (CUNY). Dr. Perri has researched the mentoring of community college students and its relationship to student retention. Harriett J. Robles is Interim President at Mission College in Santa Clara, California. She has 25 years experience in the community colleges as an instructor in English and ESL and as an administrator in both instruction and student services. She has held a variety of administrative positions including assistant dean, dean and vice president. Dr. Robles holds an EdD in Educational Leadership & Change from Fielding Graduate University, an MA in Comparative Literature from UC Berkeley, and a BA in Comparative Literature from Occidental College. She has served as President of the Research and Planning Group for California Community Colleges. Dr. Robles' scholarship has focused on the community college as a learning organization. Mark Scanlon-Green is
a product of community colleges in Illinois and Washington State, attending
William Rainey Harper Junior College in Palatine, IL, and Seattle Central
Community College in Seattle, WA. Later he served as an instructor in
the Seattle Community College system in their Business programs, teaching
Organizational Development and Diversity in the Workplace courses. He
has also been a trainer and consultant for Olympic, Everett, and Edmonds
Community Colleges in Washington State through on site programs funded
by Perkins Sex Equity and Title III grants. He also served as a research
consultant to the Washington State community college system. Mark is a
passionate supporter of the community college concept, especially their
social justice role in reducing barriers to education to members of marginalized
communities. Mark's interests in the community college area are now primarily
focused on teaching and learning. |
